The USA is the world's largest consumer of coffee, importing 16 to 20 million bags annually (2.5 million pounds), representing 1/3 of all coffee exported. More than half of the United States population consumes coffee, typically drinking 3.4 cups of coffee a day.

The first European coffee was sold in pharmacies in 1615 as a medical remedy.

MINISTERIAL PROGRAM
  Because the Costa Rican Coffee Company appreciates the Church and what it contributes to the total community, we are pleased to institute a faith based program for ministers.  The program is designed to generate income for each individual church's  family ministry and "HELP" for its various community programs.  The program is simple.

  The minister announces the program at a the conclusion of a regular church service  The minister will encourage the church's members to sell our coffee to their family and friends. The church will recieve 25% of the total net sales  The pastor is encouraged to have the church members get pre sale orders.  The church members can pre sell the coffee and collect the fee and the coffeee is sold before it is shipped.  There is no program similar to this where the church is helping its members generate extra income and the church receives extra money for its community and family programs.  The Pastor can delegate this program to an Associate pastor or some other official in the church.
